Interview with Bhaneeta Chadha
Founded in 2017 by serial entrepreneurs Ameer Rosic and Dmitry Buterin, the online hub Blockgeeks created an educational space where talented, inspiring, hardworking entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders can learn about the rapidly evolving world of crypto and blockchain technology.
Besides being an entrepreneur, Ameer Rosic is an investor and blockchain evangelist. Also, he founded Rosic Media, a niche digital marketing firm that has helped many companies leverage the latest and greatest marketing strategies to fuel their businesses. Some of the Global Brands he has helped are 5 Minute Journal, Luxy Hair, Activation Products, Q-con and Social-Light conference, Decentral, Jaxx and many other Fortune 500 caliber companies.
Dmitry Buterin has been a member of the worldwide Entrepreneurs Organization since 2004. He started a number of ventures, three of which have become multi-million dollar businesses. Dmitry’s son Vitalik Buterin is a world renown thought leader in the blockchain/Bitcoin space where he founded Ethereum, now the second biggest cryptocurrency platform in the world with a market cap of USD $1 billion.
Blockchain Experts Empower Knowledge Seekers
Blockgeeks’ mission is to share and grow the knowledge around Blockchain technology. Bhaneeta Chadha, Content Manager at Blockgeeks explains, “A vast amount of knowledge that would be valuable to many people is currently only available to a few — either locked in people’s heads, or only accessible to select groups. We want to connect the people who have knowledge to the people who need it, to bring together people with different perspectives so they can understand each other better, and to empower everyone to share their knowledge for the benefit of the rest of the world.”
Products and Services
Blockgeeks offers exceptional courses focusing on the enthusiastic curiosity seekers who want to learn about blockchain and cryptocurrencies online to gain more expertise in this evolving industry. As well, Blockgeeks helps other blockchain companies to educate crypto enthusiasts on their projects.
“Blockchain and cryptocurrency have been incredibly complex worlds from the very beginning. Ask anyone without significant programming or mathematics knowledge to make sense of the Bitcoin white paper, and they’re going to have a pretty hard time,” clarifies Chadha.
Blockgeeks’ main goal is to be an intermediary between experts, knowledge seekers and business owners who want to know more about this evolving industry that can be overwhelming at times. “We want to change that. Through our innovative online guides and courses, we remove the high barrier to entry in the blockchain world. Bitcoin mining? Market caps? Regulations? Smart contracts? It’s not as complicated as it sounds. At Blockgeeks, you’ll find easy to understand breakdowns for every aspect of this revolutionary technology.”
Currently, Blockgeeks has 60+ courses and workshops, as well as 2 master courses: Blockchain for Business and Blockchain Laws and Regulation. They add to their course library weekly and make updates as needed which is usually on a monthly basis.
Additionally, Blockgeeks also has a reward based program for their customer base called L+ Earn Program and Blocks. Their L+ Earn program incentivizes students to complete their course and share their knowledge. Chadha describes other benefits of this program. “It also allows students to use what they learned in the real world, as they can trade their blocks for crypto and other blockchain related products.”
The advantage of Blockgeeks offering courses online is that they are able to reach students internationally. Occasionally, they have special talks at their office but all courses are done online so that they can reach more people with no time constraints as to when they can access the courses.
Blockgeeks has partnered with many companies such as Woz U, an education company owned by Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, American Express, and Hyperledger. More collaborations are likely to come since Blockgeeks is gaining more exposure worldwide and their membership is increasing.
The response from members when Blockgeeks first emerged on scene has been positive since their membership continues to grow. “As one of the pioneers of crypto and blockchain the response was extremely positive. As we’ve grown and added more features to the learning experience, the positive response has only increased,” says Chadha.
People from all over the world take their courses ranging from 10 year-old students to experienced 80 year-olds. The demographic is broad and the reach is global.
Blockgeeks offers course and workshops for beginners to experienced learners and experts. Their educators consist of active professionals in the industry with real life experience. In this fast paced crypto movement, Blockgeeks is in sync with its evolution by working closely with many of the biggest projects in the crypto space such as Ethereum and Hyperledger. Also, they have their own crypto/blockchain journalist researchers.
Blockgeeks has courses for both developers and non-coding courses that cover subjects such as crytocurrency investing, blockchain law and regulation, as well as business perspectives of blockchain technology. Currently, they don’t have a think tank group that can practically guide and assist companies shift to the blockchain, but it’s a service that they will consider in the future.
Future Vision and Expansion
As a global crypto and blockchain education source, the future of Blockgeeks is bright. “At this time we are working on creating Community Project Tracks that give blockchain projects their own unique space to interact with real blockchain students and host courses, guides, and workshops,” shares Chadha.
Currently, their focus is on education so they don’t do much work in the realm of consulting. Chadha adds, “Many large corporations like Starbucks and Samsung are adopting blockchain and cryptocurrency so the change we hope to see is already happening!”
Blockgeeks will continue to create high quality expert courses on crypto and blockchain. They will also work closely with blockchain and crypto projects as well as conferences. “Stay tuned for new master courses and events,” adds Chadha.
Evolution to a Hybrid System
The current system is already moving towards a hybrid system where many big companies are now accepting cryptocurrencies as payment. Even though the shift has not completely taken effect yet, there are opportunities to educate business owners of all industries to embrace the technology even though they may be reticent right now. Blockgeeks is ready to train business owners.
“We currently have a Blockchain for Business Non-Technical Master Course that is meant for business professionals and entrepreneurs who are interested in learning about blockchain and how it can be applied to their business or industry,” explains Chadha.
Regardless if business owners are ready or not, Blockgeeks intends to bridge that gap by preparing the younger generation of students, not yet in the industry, to think ahead. “Our students come from a variety of different backgrounds and specialties. We hope through our courses and workshops, students will be able to apply what they learn to their professional lives and be a part of the blockchain revolution.”
